hey everybody! once again, my bad for the length it’s been since my last update!
thanks to all who have written about the recently aired tv movies. appreciate the congrats and nice thoughts! there aren’t many moments where three tv movies air in ONE day! craziness. if you happened to miss the premiere of ALWAYS AND FOREVER please check local listings as hallmark channel does re-air.
i happen to be in this week’s STAR mag! and no, i did not “rock the dress.” but you know what? neither did gwenyth paltrow or anna paquin so i truly don’t feel so bad! :O)
NOW! NEW NEWS! MUSIC NEWS! i’ve been busy in the studio working on my country music! FINALLY!! i can now tell you the first single is AMAZING! i’m thrilled with it and SOOOO EXCITED to share it! right now i’m waiting for the song to be sent over. my producer is busy mixing the track and i’m (not so patiently) waiting to hear it.
the details: the single is called “IF I SAID HOWDY TO YOU!” i wrote the lyrics and had an idea for the song. i’m blessed to be working with an amazing producer and songwriter, the very talented brandon jarrett, with moho productions. brandon is also an incredible singer/performer… i hope “HOWDY” brings a smile to your face! the very cool news…we’re hoping to have it available on iTunes sometime in december…january ‘10 at the latest. as soon as i get word it’s avail, i’ll be screaming from the rooftops.
i’ll be starting a myspace music page soon as well and will let you know when that’s good to go. thanks all for your continued support!
be a blessing. no matter what. and every day.

happy valentine’s day! i hope everyone is feeling love and more importantly, is GIVING love! that is what it’s all about.
hopefully so far the new year has brought y’all happiness. i’ve had an incredible few months. i’ve been very busy and that’s just the way i like it!
the nanny express aired on the wonderful hallmark channel and did extremely well in the ratings! if you missed it the first time around, good news! it’s airing at two different times saturday, feb 14th, that’s right! valentine’s day. awww! if you missed dark beauty, you can catch that on lifetime on monday.
right now i am writing another tv movie for the hallmark channel. i am so excited about this one. i’ll let you know when it will be airing but i’ve heard late fall of ‘09. aslo! always and forever is done shooting! i am so thrilled with this movie as well. dean mcdermott and rena sofer star in it and barbara eden makes a great cameo! i know! i dream of jeanie! too cool. that is hopeuflly airing sometime in october 2009.

i was so blessed to be able to attend tom cruise’s premiere valkyrie in december. pics are posted on my facebook page if you want to see! i also met tom and he was amazing. one of the kindest, sweetest people i’ve met in this business. on christmas eve, i voluteered at the salvation army’s wonderful holiday dinner. it was so nice to work with others in entertainment who really do enjoy giving back.
i’ve been ice skating as much as i can to prep for before i go… that’s been so much fun. i have a great coach named suren, who pushes me to things i couldn’t dream of doing after only three months! but i am doing them, and sometimes not even falling. :O)
keep living the dream.
last month i was honored to sing at a great benefit for the here’s to life foundation. i was the finale and sang one of my favorite songs ever… somewhere over the rainbow. here’s the link from youtube if you’d like to see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wrz5tY4gaw
hopefully there will be more music hitting the website soon! a country version of amazing grace and somewhere over the rainbow is coming soon….!
:O)
as i just looked at the last date i blogged…. i am full of where the heck did the summer go?!? i cannot believe it was may when i last wrote. very bad! it has been a very busy few months and all great.
hope everyone has had a wonderful summer! i certainly did. i was able to go back to new york and see my family which always makes everything great. i am headed back for one more trip before summer officially ends.
i’ve been busy working on a few projects too! as most of you know, dark beauty on lifetime aired to such great ratings, they have re-aired it two more times. (check your local listings on lifetime for the next air date!) the nanny express, a movie i wrote for hallmark, is set to air in january 2009. i was fortunate to see the director’s cut and i am so proud of this tv movie. it’s really a cute little feel-good movie and one that could be watched by kids. (unlike some of my other darker ones!)
i spent most of the summer working on another movie for hallmark! this one is a romantic drama and i am so excited about it. casting hasn’t begun yet but as soon as i hear anything concrete, i will pass it along.
i have met with a few incredible people recently about before i go. every day is one step closer to seeing it on screen. fingers crossed and i’ll thank you all in advance for all good thoughts!
i know i always make things positive and fun…but i also think i wouldn’t be a friend without saying things that need to be said sometimes. so, i need to leave you with a final serious note: to all my girls out there…PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE ALL DOING MONTHLY BREAST EXAMS. i know we all think it can’t happen to us…well, it can. do whatever you can do to keep yourselves healthy and informed. knowledge is power. and if you know what’s going on with your body, you can stop something not so great before it gets untreatable. okay??? so, ladies, get smart, get mammograms and get examined. enough said.

also fun and exciting news is another tv movie i just finished writing. it’s called the nanny express and this one is for the hallmark channel. they are already prepping to start shooting next week. it moved very fast! the beautiful and talented vanessa marcil is attached to star as the nanny and extraordinary dean stockwell is attached to play her father. it’s already set to air in january 09! stay tuned for an update on vanessa’s love interest!
i’ve been made an official member of the band at my church! it’s very cool and i am honored. the guys ROCK every week. and i am so happy to be doing what i love all the time. in honor of mother’s day we performed natalie merchant’s kind and generous and wind beneath my wings. it was awesome!
next up is recording a few songs with producer graham ward which has me BEYOND excited…also working on financing to get before i go ready to segue into a movie! and YES! i am thinking of the next book! along with a few movies, tv shows and songs!
i’m now on facebook too if you want to visit me there. happy spring!
love riley
hopefully all of you were touched by some great luck today! i was very proud of myself for remembering to wear my “everyone loves an irish girl” tee shirt but unfortunately the only person who had half a chance to see it was the postman!
a few pieces of exciting news….
before i go has gone INTERNATIONAL! the first territory was sold to portugal. it’s very cool that another country will have my book on their book shelves!
also…there is another tv movie in the works! i am writing a movie called “the nanny express” for a cable network. it’s incredibly cute and heartwarming. i’ll be sure to keep you updated on everything as i get more information. right now i’m busy writing it!

hi all!
hope everyone is having a great weekend and a wonderful start to the month!
i had the pleasure singing today at my wonderful church in los angeles. it was so fantastic. i performed two songs (carrie underwood’s version of “i’ll stand by you” and faith hill’s “there will come a day”) the band rocked and it was a great experience! hopefully there will be lots more performing to come!
for those of you who need a little daily entertainment news … have you read poptarts on fox news.com? it’s a wonderful section written fantastically and let me tell you…the girl who writes it knows what is going on with everyone! please check her out at: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,333808,00.html
if you have trouble with the link, go to foxnews.com and under the entertainment section, see POPTARTS!! BRILLIANT!!
in the past few weeks, i’ve been so lucky to be working with one of l.a.’s most talented up and coming music producers too…graham ward is his name and he’s outrageously brilliant and by the way, one of the nicest guys i’ve ever had the chance to work with. hopefully you’ll be hearing a lot of good stuff from us soon!
and speaking of being lucky to work with some great people…anyone remember the band LOGAN? and were you bummed when they split up? well, good news!!! matt bozeman, their lead singer/songwriter, has gone solo…and he is now back in the studio recording again! and i am happy and lucky to be working with him on a few of my songs! i’m excited about our collaboration and can’t wait to share it with you when we’re done!
for those of you who have been writing…patiently asking…when is the next book coming out?! the answer is, well…i don’t know yet! BUT! i can tell you i have started thinking about it! forgive the delay. but it’s been great to be working on a few tv movie scripts and really exciting to be working on my music too.
in the meantime, i am still waiting for the air date of DARK BEAUTY on lifetime…which some of you will remember as BLACK WIDOW. it’s been airing in the UK already which is cool. as soon as i hear about an airdate, i will let you all know.
hope everyone has a great week ahead!

hello there!
i know it’s been a long time once again since i’ve written…and i apologize! life has been good and busy. thankfully the writers strike is finally over and we can all get back to doing what we love doing!
here is some great news about before i go! first of all, as of today, before i go has gone international! the rights were just optioned for it in portugal! it’s very exciting. hopefully more foreign territories will be popping up soon. also on the before i go front…i’ve been working in the recording studio with some very talented, totally extraordinary people! the first song off the sountrack to before i go was recorded last week. it came out so beyond my wildest expectations. it was writtten and sung by matt goss, an unbelievably talented singer/songwriter/musician. he’s incredible. the song is called “madison’s lullaby” and is for the last scene that takes place between madison and annie. it’s beautiful and heartbreaking. there will hopefully be more news about the movie soon!
hope everyone had a great valentine’s day! come visit me on facebook or myspace too!
sending love,
riley
if anyone is interested…my holiday tv movie is reairing this friday! i wrote this movie and i am also in it.
)
details:
title: christmas at water’s edge
date: friday, december 21st.
where: lifetime
if you have direct tv, it’s airing at 11am PST. if you’re east coast, it could be 2pm.
any other cable outlets, you’ll need to check your local listings!
as soon as i get an airdate for lifetime’s “black widow” which i wrote, i will let you all know!
i know, i know. it’s been wayyyyyyyy too long! and i truly apologize for no updates in the last few months.
first of all, i hope everyone is having a great holiday so far! i am getting ready to go visit with pretty much every member of my family. i’m so excited to see everyone.
second…what a few months! most recent and also most important is the writers guild strike which is affecting every person in the entertainment industry, no matter what side someone is on. it’s an extremely unfortunate circumstance but also very, very necessary. i’ve been picketing for 6 weeks. we stopped picketing for the holidays yesterday. if you’d like to know more about it, you can check out www.wga.org or http://unitedhollywood.blogspot.com. both sites can fill you in on the struggle the writers in hollywood and ny are dealing with…
before the strike started, there was some great news to report! before i go, my debut novel, is in development to be a feature film! and YES! i am attached to play madison! it’s extremely exciting and as soon as the strike is over, we all look forward to moving ahead with the development and production. there are truly great people involved on the production side and i am very blessed.
more news on before i go…i now have a wonderful agent at the greatest agency repping my book and my future books. hopefully before i go will become available in paperback in 2008! and yes, for the people who ahve been asking about the next book….i’m working on it! or at the least, the decision on what book to write! it’s going to be another fiction book called “going nowhere” or a chick lit book called “i’m your girl”. the movie version of “i’m your girl” is already in the early stages to be a movie so keep your fingers crossed!
i also moved into a new house recently! that took just about all my energy for a few weeks but i am all settled and love my new home.
if you haven’t seen my internet series “being bailey” check it out! you can watch the first three episodes–about four minutes each– at www.beingbailey.com. we have interest from a big advertising company who might be investing in future episodes which would be great. it’s a realistic series about a girl starting high school … she’s not exactly sure she’s going to make it through the enxt four years of her life so she decides to document her potential demise on camera for all to see. the actors are fantastic and the production was wonderful. let me know what you think!
i’ve been working on my music recently so hopefully in the near future i’ll have some music posted on myspace and my website. keep checking back! also on myspace … new pictures!
hope you all have a truly magical holiday season full of miracles, perfect health and love.
love riley
